6 Signs of Early Puberty in Girls

Puberty, Uncategorized

Here are some early signs that your little girl may be hitting puberty too fast.

I’ve been seeing girls as young as 6 and 7 with one or more of these issues. With successful treatment, we can slow down the process.

– Body odor. This is often the first thing that alerts a parent that something is amiss. However early puberty is not the only cause of this so please don’t be alarmed. It could be as simple as diet.

– Acne.

– Underarm and pubic hair growth development

– A very rapid growth spurt

– A period.

– Breast tissue development. Soreness in the breast area.

– Greasy hair

The normal age range now for the onset of puberty is considered 8-12.

I personally think that 8 is too young.

And of course the definition or “normal” has changed.  But just because something is “normal”, it doesn’t mean that it’s right.

If you have any worries about your child, get in touch.
