Early or “precocious” puberty is when a child’s body starts to develop too soon.
But what is “too soon”?
The “normal” age range for the onset of puberty for girls, is between 8-12.
However a study by Dr. Marcia Herman-Giddens shows how the “normal” age of the onset of pubery has changed dramatically over a relatively short timespan.
1860 – 16.6 years.
1920 – 14.6 years
1950 – 13.1 years
1980 – 12.5 years
2010 – 10.5 years
And now 2018 – 8 years
Given the fact that us women only have a certain number of eggs, it would stand to figure that the earlier we start our periods, the earlier we finish them.
And as many women now choose to wait until their late 30s and early 40s to start their families, this is going to have an impact on our girls in the future.
This is something I’m seeing more and more of. Homeopathy can halt this and/or slow down the process.
If your child is maturing physically, quicker than you are confortable with, contact me.
I can help.
